Harmonic Interval
A tall shouldered vase banded at its widest point with a chevron course in black, cream, red and gold.
The wall flares out hard from a narrow foot, and the open-grained dark hardwood carries a strong stripe of its own before any pattern is added. Against it, courses of dyed blue and cream veneer run in fine parallel lines.
Blocks of the dark wood step across those lines in a broken key pattern, and because the bowl is open the same figure is visible right down the inside of the form.
