The Dancers
A wide, low-shouldered vessel with a pale maple band carrying a stepped figure in dark hardwood and gold.
The body is built from hundreds of warm mahogany-toned segments laid up in courses, with the brick pattern of the stacking left visible rather than disguised. The proportions narrow to a small rolled rim, so the eye travels the full height of the piece.
Across the shoulder runs the band the piece is named for: a zigzag course in near-black and cream, with red and gold lines chasing the peaks. Every point in that chevron is an individual piece of wood cut to angle.
